The snooker team made India proud again. Brijesh Damani, Manan Chandra and Alok Kumar clinched victory at the inaugural Asian Team Snooker Championships after hammering Iran by 3-0 in the title clash in Doha at Qatar.

The Indian contestants were in their form right from the beginning. They were toppers in their group with three victories from as many games. Following the group staged, India was the only one to stay undefeated. China, Pakistan and Thailand ended up on top of their respective groups but each suffered a defeat.

India hauled gold easily after outplaying Qatar by 3-1 in the quarterfinals, ousted Afghanistan by scoring 3-1 in the semifinals before registering a total victory against Iran by scoring 61-49 in singles, 58-16 in singles and 63-55 in doubles yesterday.
