Formula BMW series: JK Tyre wishes to provide exposure to U-20 drivers

After deciding to pull out their support from races at the Formula One Indian Grand Prix, JK Tyre has commenced their innovative campaigns to provide exposure to the young racers in India.

The management wishes to get a head start for a race on the street circuit in Srinagar for the Formula BMW series for under-20 drivers, which replaces their Asia Series. Currently, they are waiting for security clearance from the sport's world governing body FIA to conduct the event on the circuit which is located around the Dal lake.

The Head Motorsport of JK Tyre and Industries Limited Sanjay Sharma informed on Thursday that the Jammu & Kashmir government has done everything to help them build the circuit. But they won't be able to compromise on the safety front. They will only go ahead if all avenues are cleared.

Later he added that if Srinagar does not get permission, the races of round 3 will be held in either Goa or Pune from 6th-8th September.

The season will commence at Coimbatore from 19th to 21st July. Then it will move to Chennai from 9th to 11th Aug. The fourth round is scheduled from 27th to 29th Sep while the fifth round will occur from 29th Nov to 1st Dec and will be held at Buddh International Circuit in Greater Noida.

In fact, the Formula BMW series finds assistance from technical expertise of renowned racing team like Eurointernational--winner of several Formula championships globally.
