National cricket team of Nepal unveiled new Jersey

KATHMANDU: BS Sports, a subsidiary of Singapore-based company Singa Steel SG Ltd, today launched the Nepal national cricket team’s new jersey which will be used during the upcoming ICC World Twenty20 in Bangladesh.

Cricket Association of Nepal recently had signed a Rs 30 million sponsorship deal with Singa Steel for the senior and U-19 men’s and women’s team jersey and other kits. Following the biggest deal in Nepali cricket history, the apparel produced by BS Sports will now be used by national teams for the next three years.

Amidst a ceremony on Sunday, National Sports Council Member Secretary Yubaraj Lama, Singa Steel CEO Saad Khan Januza – also the skipper of the Singapore national team —, BS Sports Director Ali Babar and national team senior member Shakti Gauchan jointly unveiled the jersey.

Getting rid of the dark blue colour, BS Sports has come up with a grayish blue in the new jersey with a gradually fattening red stripe stretched to the neck from the waist are the two major changes. BS Sports is associated with around 30 international cricketers including Kamran Akmal and Younis Khan of Pakistan, Prasanna Jayawardene of Sri Lanka and Ravi Rampaul of the West Indies.
