Delhi Daredevil skipper Virender Sehwag is prohibited as Indian Premiere League season six opener against Kolkata Knight Riders on Wednesday due to back spasm. This proved to be a serious blow to the Delhi Daredevils.
A team official informed that he is having back spasm and his doctors advised him to take rest and skip the match in Kolkata. Even Purple cap holder Morne Morkel, who bowled Titans to a semifinal place in the Ram Slam T20 Challenge in the South Africa domestic cricket will miss the match. Coach Eric Simons declared that they are playing semis tomorrow and if they make final on 7th April, they may miss him for another game.
The Delhi Daredevils will miss the talent of big hitter Kevin Pietersen of England in the entire IPL season six due to knee injury. They have also lost the services of explosive batsman Jesse Ryder of New Zealand who was badly wounded and hospitalised after a brutal attack outside a Christchurch bar.
