Arsenal scores a winner against Reading even after 4-0 down

Arsenal made a tremendous comeback after giving away four goals to sail past Reading 7-5 during the extra time.

In what proved to be an epic cup tie, one of the highlights of the match was when the Mad Stad came good reflecting its nickname aptly as Arsenal after spectacularly recovering from 4-0 down to reach the quarter-finals of the Capital One Cup.

Considering that the weekend was full of controversies with the biggest one being Chelsea’s allegations that Mark Clattenburg decisions have favored Manchester United’s gain, which eventually resulted in their first loss of the league. Arsenal’s win has now proved to a fresh wave of sportsmanship.

Arsene Wenger’s men have proved time and again that what their team means in times of crisis. This was no less as well when Arsenal fans who appeared to have sensed that a defeat is imminent came back to life with the win.

After getting down to 4-0 after 40 minutes into the game, Arsenal displayed a defense as solid as a blancmange, the cheerful fans all of a sudden were shouting all the way “we want our money back”. However, it was only in the end that their team played 4-2-4, with Theo Walcott and Olivier Giroud marvelous and even Marouane Chamakh seeming threatening, Arsenal fans returned back home with some of the most memorable moments of their life.

In fact, it was a match that they will remember for long. Passing through different phases, they have experienced various emotions with Arsenal giving its best throughout the match. It was all about class, about winning tournaments and, most importantly, keep winning after securing the fourth position that grants them a premium access of getting into the Champions League on a grand note.

Arsène Wenger got into the fray by making 11 changes, reflecting the fact that he was not considering the Capital One Cup on a serious note, but it happens to be a competition that provides a route up Wembley Way. It furnishes a unique chance of silverware, a feature that Arsenal fans always look forward to.

Theo Walcott came charging down all the way while his teammates including Chamakh and Andrei Arshavin were still heading forward like statues. It was the grit and determination of Walcott that provided the base for the whole team that revived the hopes. Since then, there was no looking back for Wenger’s men. Considering the fact that they were already 4-0 down and coming back into the match in such a scintillating manner by scoring 7-5 finally are the highlights of the match.

Arsenal was in total wreckage till then with no hopes of recovery at all. It was a terrible form of defending on their front even after having two of their experienced centre-halves in Laurent Koscielny and Johan Djourou resulting in a weak defense on an overall.

The biggest shock received by Arsenal fans was when their team didn’t even manage to put up a quality display even after having a formidable attack. Even with the likes of Emmanuel Frimpong, the highly-rated Francis Coquelin and teenage
