Arsenal will bounce back in Premier League, says Wenger

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger maintains that his inconsistent team "have problems", but refuses to accept that he is the man to have all the things under control.

The team’s 2-0 home defeat on Saturday in the Premier League at the hands of Swansea City was bad enough for some fans as well. However, the more problematic aspect is that the Welsh team's capability to showcase presence and make use of several chances in a fashion similar to Wenger's most memorable sides of the past. It now needs to be seen that how the Gunners will take their future course of action towards.

"There's a problem of course," responded a spirited Wenger. "What is important when you have a problem is to do something about it.

"The second thing is the strength to do something about it, and I'm confident we have both. We have the strength and we will do something about it. Let's not go overboard.

"We lost on Saturday and of course we are not happy with that. But I am confident that we have a strong team, that we have a strong spirit in the side, and that will come out," he shared his views with others in the club's website.

Even before the Swansea defeat, the Arsenal chief has informed that the fact that four of their six league encounters in December would be held at home and that was reason to ensure that his side could create some momentum in a successful manner and close the gap on the leaders.

Instead, Saturday's defeat will have affected the morale of his side for sure, who were also upset by Fulham for a long period of their scintillating 3-3 home draw last month.

Presently ranked 10th in the Premier League post 15 games, five points behind arch rivals Tottenham Hotspur and 15 behind leaders Manchester United, Arsenal is under the keen observation of manager Wenger who knows well he has his work cut out with high-flying West Bromwich Albion visiting on Saturday.

Chants of: 'You don't know what you're doing' were targeted at Wenger when Arsenal remained without a striker on the field in the 0-0 draw at Aston Villa last month but the former French legend, who has a contract until 2014, is not the one to give up. It should not be forgotten that it is the same Wenger who has been the thin and thick of the Gunners in the past several years.

"I always respected my contracts and that I never renegotiated any contract in my life," the former Monaco and Grampus Eight boss said.

"When I sign for something, I stand for it and that will continue as long as I will work. These are two principles that I always respected."

Whether it will be a dramatic turnout for Arsenal by the concluding steps that will be taken by Wenger or not, the next few matches will hold crucial for the Gunners. It is highly expected that they will salvage some pride by performing well in front of the home crowd.
