Barcelona Legends vs Mohun Bagan Legends- Review

The Barcelona legends travelled to the city of joy to take on one of the most renowned clubs of Indian football, Mohun Bagan, in an exhibition match. The match took place in the Salt Lake Stadium, a landmark venue in Indian football and one of the biggest stadiums in the world. The match ended 6-0 in favour of the Catalan side but the crowd of 25000 surely enjoyed every bit of it.




The whole crowd went crazy after Javier Saviola, former Argentine forward, started things off. The people in the stands could be heard chanting ‘Saviola, Saviola’. The forward mesmerized the crowd with his moves inside the same stadium that was once lit up by the performance of his compatriot Leo Messi, seven years back. Roger Garcia struck for Barcelona soon after followed by Pedro Lopez just before the break. Jari Litmanen came in with a brace including a goal from the spot to make it 5-0. Just when it seemed like the game would end with the same score line, Jofre Mateu scored Barca’s sixth and the last goal of the match in injury time to wrap things up.

It was time to say goodbye as the Barcelona legends left the field, congratulating their counterparts and exchanging shirts. The football crazy crowd seemed to have had the time of their lives as they went on chanting ‘Barca, Barca’.
