Rohit Sharma would be looking forward to making his 200th appearance memorable, with the series already sealed in the 3rd ODI itself, against the Kiwis in their backyard. Rohit holds a good record as stand-in captain and the whole team would be eyeing for the biggest series win in the 52 years of touring New Zealand. With a promising batting friendly track at Seddon Park, Rohit Sharma would like to extend his personal record as well, with three double hundreds to his credit.
On a different note, the remaining two matches would provide opportunities for the youngsters and test the bench strength. An update of MS Dhoni’s hamstring injury would be announced soon following which decision would be taken to include him in the match.
With Kohli rested for the remainder of New Zealand series, the immensely talented Shubham Gill might be given a chance. And if both Gill And Dhoni are included in the final XI, then Karthik might be rested. Also if Shami is rested on the back of a series of impressive performance, Khalil Ahmed or Mohammed Siraj could be given a chance.
