Rio de Janeiro, April 30 (IANS) Real Madrid star Jean Carlos has been included in Brazil's preliminary squad for the FIFA Under-20 World Cup, beginning next month in New Zealand.
The 18-year-old, part of Real Madrid's youth ranks since 2010, was one of five Europe-based players on coach Alexandre Gallo's 26-man shortlist. Others are Manchester United midfielder Andreas Pereira, Cagliari forward Caio Rangel, Marseille playmaker Alef, and Braga midfielder Danilo, reports Xinhua.
The squad will be trimmed to 21 on May 16.
The U-20 World Cup will be held from May 30 to June 20. Five-time winners Brazil have been drawn in Group E alongside Nigeria, Hungary and North Korea.
