Champions League: Liverpool beat Porto heading straight to the semis

The Liverpool trio of Sadio Mane, Mohamed Salah and Roberto Firmino once more baffled the Porto’s on the ground, making it to the semifinals against FC Barcelona. Liverpool scored 4 goals, while Porto’s were unable to defend the goals, let alone score for their side. The first goal came in the 26th minute when Mohamed Salah assisted Sadio Mane, who shot the ball from his right foot from a close, ending inside the center goal post. The goal was initially declared offside, but video footage confirmed it to be a legal goal. This goal set the momentum for the upcoming goal by Liverpool. The first half of the game had a single goal from the Liverpool side. Mohamed Salah scored the next for Liverpool in the 65th minute assisted by Trent Alexander-Arnold. FC Porto made a comeback in the 67th minute, with Eder Militao scoring a goal by a header from the center of the box to the center of the goal. Among the trio, Roberto Firmino was yet to score, which he completed in the 73rd minute, with a header ending in the center of the post. As pressure started building, FC Porto was already struggling, and to finish all hope for them, Virgil van Dijk scored the last goal of the night with another header making way for Liverpool to come face-to-face with FC Barcelona in the Semi-finals.
