It has been reported that the top two men's doubles badminton teams from South Korea and Japan is scheduled to face off in the China Masters' final following both won their semifinals on Saturday.
Remarkably, in the first five of 10 semifinal matches played on Saturday, the top-ranked Ko Sung-Hyun and Lee Yong-Dae from South Korea thrashed fourth-seeded combo Liu Xiaolong and Qiu Zihan of China by 21-13, 21-12.
Meanwhile, the second seeded men's pair of Hiroyuki Endo and Kenichi Hayakawa of Japan, hammered Chai Biao and Hong Wei of China by 14-21, 21-18, 21-13 in a match that continued for 56 minutes.
On the other side, the top-ranked women's doubles team of Wang Xiaoli and Yu Yang from China squashed their compatriots Ou Dongni and Tang Yuanting by 21-13, 21-6.
Further in women's singles, Liu Xin of China thumped Sayaka Takahashi of Japan by 21-17, 21-15.
In mixed doubles, the second-seeded team of Zhang Nan and Zhao Yunlei from China, trounced the fourth-seeded combination of Markis Kido and Pia Zebadiah Bernadeth of Indonesia by 21-16, 21-14.
However, the remaining five semifinals matches will occur on Saturday evening. This includes the world's number one in women's singles title Li Xuerui from China who will clash with Porntip Buranaprasertsuk of Thailand.
