Colombian trio dumps Poland out

This was a must win match for both Poland and Colombia. But it was a one sided match when Colombia put their poor performance against Japan in the bin and won convincingly by 3 goals to nil.

In the 40th minute of the match, Yerry Mina headed into the net and put Colombia in the front. This was Mina’s 4th goal in just 13 international appearances while the rejuvenated Radamel Falcao found the back of the net with the outside of his boot and scored his first World Cup goal. His goal seemed to have redeemed his injury-ravaged past which prevented him from making his World Cup appearance for Colombia in the 2014 World Cup. Falcao led Colombia quite brilliantly and deserved his goal. Following Falcao’s goal was Cuadrado’s goal. However, Cuadrado sprinted down halfway and finished deftly with the side of his foot.colo-poland-content

However, quite surprisingly Robert Lewandowski who scored 16 goals in the qualifying stages returned a blank slate yet again! He came close to scoring with a right foot effort from distance which was saved by Colombian goalkeeper Ospina. Lewandowski seemed isolated and he was presented with very few opportunities to score by the rest of the team.
