Dhoni registered to be the first captain to win three tournaments of ICC Champions Trophy

Team India hammered England to win the ICC Champions Trophy on Sunday under the captaincy of Mahendra Singh Dhoni. In fact, Dhoni created a brilliant record of winning three major tournaments of ICC. Apart form this; the Indian team has captured the apex position of the ICC Test ranking in 2009 under his captaincy.

To be precise, at first India won the 20-20 World Cup in 2007 under the captaincy of Dhoni. Subsequently, he registered the World Cup of 50 overs in 2011 in his name. Ultimately, the captain hit the hat trick by winning the ICC Champions Trophy.

Recently, the Indian team tainted by the controversy of betting and spot-fixing in the Indian Premier League (IPL) season six reached England. Not only the Chennai Super Kings team headed by Dhoni was in distress, but also the overall Indian cricket team was miserably affected due to the hullabaloo. However, by winning the ICC Champions Trophy, Dhoni proved that he is the no.1 captain.

Amazingly, Dhoni’s team won all the matches in the Champions Trophy in England. India proved to be a tough rival even during the practice matches. The Indian squad consistently won seven matches including two practice matches. Before squashing Sri Lanka in the semifinals, India got the better of South Africa, West Indies and Pakistan. Great achievement indeed!
