England Wins Big Against Czech Republic

Raheem Sterling scores hat-trick for England, while the return of Ronaldo didn’t make a difference for the Portuguese side.

Although England failed to create much of an impact in the first 24 minutes of the match against Czech Republic, The Three Lions roared to life when the front three combined. A pass from Harry Kane was collected by Jadon Sancho before squaring the ball for the unmarked sterling to slide it past Czech goalkeeper. Following this, a penalty was converted by skipper Harry Kane in the first-half stoppage time. Sterling scored again in the 62nd minute after he connected with a through ball from Kyle Walker and six minutes later he completed his hat-trick with a curling shot. To make matters worse for the Czech side, Kalas scored an own goal to gift England with 5-0 victory.

On the other hand, Ukraine stopped Portugal from scoring for the first time in 19 home games. Ever since joining Juventus after the World Cup, Ronaldo was playing his first game for the nation. However, it turned out to be a frustrating evening for Portugal and the five-time world player of the year. After a goalless draw Portugal are at second position in Group B.
