FIFA Working on Scattered Seats Problem

Football is a game loved by many if not all, and like other games it has opened a way for different people from different part of the world, carrying different cultures and ideologies to come under the same sky to passionately support their respective teams. The game has been widely popular since its inception. With the physical strength and willpower needed to play football the game was soon categorised as a ‘men’s game’, and women were put to rest as outrageous decision of banning football for woman made its way stating the game to be ‘unsuitable for females’ and could be troublesome if women receive injuries during the game. However, the hypocrisy came to an end in 1971, when the ban was lifted by English FA. In 20 more years UEFA and AFC supported women’s game and with spectator turning up for women’s matches successfully, thus in 1991, FIFA announced the 1st FIFA Women’s World Cup to be held in China and after that, there was no looking back.

FIFA has been working on the major international football events, especially the World Cup, over many years and another Women’s World Cup is waiting just around the corner. As 2019 FIFA Women’s World Cup is about to being on June 7, FIFA started printing early tickets from Monday 20th May. However, as few tickets got sold, several fans took it on to the social media to discuss the newly faced problems. The problem being that the seats are scattered, and to go with a company would mean to sit separately throughout the game. Family and Friends who planned to go together faced with this uncanny problem and asked for solutions immediately. The problem is expected to increase in ground when audiences will trade their reserved seats with others to sit next to their friends or family. FIFA was prompt to explain the reason for tickets being separated as there has been high demand of tickets for some matches and the final and semi-final at Lyon means only single seats to be available. FIFA stated that they would look to resolve the issue along with the local organising committee at France. FIFA’s website included a disclaimer that the local organising committee has assigned the French firm APS2 to handle online ticket sales. The 2019 FIFA Women’s World Cup will commence on 7th June as France takes over South Korea and the tournament will conclude on 7th July.
