Paul Pogba was injured in the knee, team-mate Martial and Mendy picked up injuries in the hip and knee respectively.In the Manchester United vs. Manchester City match Alexander Lacazette was called as replacement but he too was mauled down with injury. This provided an opportunity for Borussia Monchengladbach forward Alassane Plea (25), who has scored 11 goals for his team in Bundesliga to get his first call. It is quite fortuitous that Ferland Mendy (23) of Lyon will get a call to play his first International match in place of Mendy.
