India Goes 1-0 Up

India went 1-0 up in the 4 match Test series against Australia at Adelaide here on Monday. At the end of the overwrought finale, India beat the home side by 31 runs. Skipper Virat Kohli became the first Asian captain to clinch Test wins at England, Australia, and South Africa. Wicket keeper Rishabh Pant equalled AB de Villiers’ feat of the most number of catches in a Test match, claiming 11 wickets. India posted a total of 307 in the second innings, with Pujara and Rahane contributing 71 and 70 runs respectively, and Nathan Lyon and Starc claiming six wickets and three wickets respectively. Australia set a target of 323, found themselves in a spot of bother at 187-7, after the departure of Shaun Marsh who scored 60 runs before Nathan Lyon decided to give the visitors a fight contributing 38 runs to the scorecard. A moral boosting victory for the visitors, India would look forward to register their first Test series win on Australian soil.
