India Likely To Be Barred From Organizing World Championship

AIBA has issued a stern notice to the Boxing Federation Of India, and chances are that India might be barred from organizing further international boxing events. Sadiku who was denied participation in the Women’s World Boxing Championship belongs from Kosovo. The Indian government fails to recognize this disputed territory in South Eastern Europe as a nation. Although International Boxing Federation president Gafur Rahimov appreciated India’s efforts in organizing the tournament, he expressed deep remorse for the denial of participation of the Kosovo boxers. AIBA also added that the ‘bidding process’ might be considered again so that the venue for the 2021 Men’s Boxing Championship can be shifted elsewhere.
