The India U-20 team is set to play again the South American giant Argentina at the COTIF Cup. In the last match against Venezuela, the young India U-20 came with a spirited performance and earned a draw. The team playing under Coach Floyd Pinto is definitely looking to produce a gutsy performance. This is indeed an opportunity for them to grow and develop and at the same time they can get prepared with competition of the highest order. The mini Mundial sub U-20 men's football tournament in Spain has begun on July 29. Interestingly, the current Indian U-20 team comprises of players who played in the FIFA U-17 World Cup 2017 and also those who represented India in the AFC U-19 qualifiers in 2017.
As of now India U-20 team has played three matches in the COTIF Cup. In the first match, the Indian U-20 team lost by 0-2 against Murcia U-20 and a 0-3 defeat against Mauritania U-20s team. The first two defeats were indeed eye openers as the young Indian players adjusted with the playing conditions. Side by side, there were few suspensions and injuries as well. After such a spirited performance, one can definitely expect that the team will come up with a fantastic performance against Lionel Messi's country. No doubt, the COTIF Cup is helping the Indian U-20 team to prepare for FIFA U-20 World Cup 2019 qualifiers.
