India whitewashes West Indies

With already acquiring double lead India was needed still 1 game to completely whitewash the series against the hard-hitting Windies. But it was still evident that West Indies would not let India win so easily without a subtle fight-back. West Indies did fight hard, but India clean swept any chances West Indies had with efficient batting and bowling strategies.

Choosing to bowl first, India gallantly executed their strategies. As a result, Deepak Chahar came as a perfect surprise to the Windies, as he ruthlessly scalped the top 3 batsmen within the first 4 overs, and West Indies suffering the early blows were immediately in an unwanted tough spot. However, Kieron Pollard (58 out; 45b; 1X4, 6X6) rescued West Indies from the fallout, contributing 58 runs in just 45 balls, as the Windies found some hope of a decent defense in the later half. Rovman Powell ((32 not out; 20b; 1X4, 2X6) at the end contributed his part to give West Indies a defendable target of 146 at the end of the 20 overs innings, with the loss of 6 wickets

At the start of the second innings, West Indies initially delivered a potent fight to scalp both the openers in the 2nd and 5th overs. With captain Virat Kohli’s (59 out; 45b; 6X4) support, Rishab Pant (65 not out; 42b; 4X4, 4X6) made his much awaited comeback with 65 not out off 42 balls. The duo’s blitzkrieg performance took the men in blue over the line at the first ball of 20th over, as Rishab Pant finished the game in style with a final maximum off Windies captain Carlos Braithwaite to snatch the tournament away.
