Indian shooter Lajja Gauswami clinched silver in the ISSF World Cup

Breaking news disclosed that Lajja Gauswami won the silver medal in women’s 50m Rifle 3 Position tournament on Tuesday, putting an end to India’s lean run at the ISSF World Cup at Granada in Spain.

Gauswami shot 584 marvelously in the qualification round while 454 in the finals to clinch the silver medal ahead of Malin Westerheim of Norway who shot 443.9 in the finals.

Meanwhile, Petra Zublasing of Italy won the gold medal after scoring a splendid 459.1 in the medal round.

On the other side, London Olympics silver medalist Vijay Kumar failed to qualify for the finals of men’s 25m rapid fire pistol event following finishing 13th in the qualification round.

Apart from the above, Pemba Tamang occupied a lowly 36th while Mahendra Singh hauled 42nd position.
