The unstoppable opening duo of Hyderabad, David Warner and Jonny Bairstow, yet again wrecked the chances of RCB, by putting up an opening partnership of 185 runs. In this season, RCB began with a grim start losing their past two matches consecutively against CSK and MI. RCB Captain Kohli’s decision to bowl first, backfired on his team, making RCB collapse. Bairstow with his 114(12X4;7X6) off of 56 balls demolished the bowlers of RCB. Warner, however, worked as an anchor, undefeated; providing a stable backup for Bairstow, and hitting occasionally at every chance, adding 100 runs (5X4;5X6) off 55 balls, putting an unbeatable total of 231 with the loss of 2 wickets, in 20 overs.
On the start of the 2nd innings, all RCB needed was Virat Kohli and AB De Villiers to do the exact same thing that the opening duo of SRH did. However, things did not go as planned, as RCB choked to 35, with the loss of 6 wickets in 7.3 overs, with Kohli scoring just 3 off 10 balls, and De Villiers only 1 of 2 balls. The only batsman stood among the rest was C de Grandhomme making 37 (3X4; 2X6) off 32 balls. SRH bowlers Muhammed Nabi and Sandeep Sharma played a crucial part by restricting RCB to 113 in 19.5 overs, with Nabi taking 4 wickets sparing just 11 runs. Surisers snatched a mighty 118 runs win against RCB, with Jonny Bairstow as the Player of the Match.
