Dinesh Karthik (97 not out; 50b; 7X4, 22 out; 15b; 9X6) played the perfect role of the captain, leading the team at a crucial time when the Knights needed him the most, and standing tall till the very end of the first innings.

Kolkata Knight Riders were unable to get the desired start in the 2nd innings as well, as within the first 5 overs, Rajastha Rooyals openers, Ajinkya Rahane and Sanju Samson had chased down 50 runs. However, at the start of 6th over, Sunil Narine comes through with his spin attacks, as Ajinkya Rahane (34 out; 21b; 5X4, 1X6) walks back to the Royals dugout, RR 53-1 after 5.3 overs. But Shreyas Gopal’s (18 out; 9b; 4X4) cameo was short, as he departs in the 16th over, Rajasthan needed 53 off 28 balls. However, Riyan Parag (47 out; 31b; 5X4, 2X6) and Jofra Archer were taking the visitors over the victory line, and KKR was unable to stop it. Parag hits his own stumps to end his game for the night as Rajasthan needed 9 off 7 balls. As 5 was needed from 5 balls, Jofra Archer (27 not out; 12b; 2x4, 2X6) hits another six to seal the victory for Rajasthan Royals at Eden Gardens.
