Is it possible for Manchester City to win Premier League?

Ivorian midfielder Yaya Toure mentioned that the Blues' challenge to retain the championship is not over yet, although he does believe for sure that Manchester United have the fairer run of fixtures.

Displaying a fairer show at this year’s Premier League division is high on the agenda for Manchester City for sure. However, it needs to concentrate hard considering the fact that strict challenges will be faced.

Manchester City midfielder Yaya Toure has stressed on the fact that his club are still in the Premier League title race, even after trailing Manchester United by 12 points with only 11 games remaining.

Perhaps, this shows the gutsy display of confidence by the team’s players much to the relief of City fans. It needs to be seen that how far the team will go in order to pursue its ultimate dream. Coming together as a single unit is much on the cards for the whole team. However, the chances of winning has to be seen that how effective the team will be in winning.

Roberto Mancini's men defeated Chelsea 2-0 at the Etihad Stadium on Sunday to maintain the rapid pace with their local rivals, but the substantial gap between themselves and United makes the latter huge favourites to lift a record 20th league title in May. Fans from both sides are eager to experience a thrilling game irrespective of who emerges as the winner. Playing the game in true spirits is what that matters the most in the end.

However, it was actually Toure who scored the opener against Chelsea who has insisted that City's trials to retain the crown are not in vain and urged his team-mates to kick on as the season’s end draws near. It can be noted that the Man City chances are at 17/2 with BetVictor to beat Aston Villa 2-1 next week.

"We have to keep on going and try and win all our games because we know United are in the top spot," Toure told City's official TV station CityTV.

"We needed 12 wins and we have to keep on going because we don't know the future and you can't say it is finished.

"For the football club and the fans, you can't give up now. We have 11 games remaining and in sport you never know what can happen in the future"

Toure did, eventually, go on to accept candidly that of the two Manchester clubs, it was City who faced the more turbulent run of fixtures from now until the end of the season. There is spectacular action in store for sure in the coming few weeks with both the teams competing to their best in order to clinch the coveted title. The strategies are already in place and the players are totally pepped up for the historic tie between both the teams.

He added: "We know we have a big calendar, more difficult than them, but we have to keep on going and try and win matches and not let any points [slip] away."
