Although Paris Saint-Germain striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic praised his previous team-mate Lionel Messi, he highlighted on Monday that it is too early to coin the Argentine as the greatest player of all times.
The 26-year-old Argentine, scored his 43rd goal in La Liga at the weekend, proving himself as the first player to score against another team in the league in subsequent games. Currently Messi has broken numerous goalscoring records. He is a potential threat to Barcelona when Catalans will take on Ibrahimovic and PSG in the Champions League quarter-final first leg at the Parc des Princes on Tuesday.
Ibrahimovic thinks that surely today Messi is the best player of the world while he played along the ruling world player of the year at the Camp Nou in the 2009-10 seasons. He opined that he has won the golden ball for such a long time—four times at a stretch that the authorities should replace the name from the Ballon d’Or to Messi. He admitted that Messi broke every existing record but dubious about the fact that he is the best ever. He thinks that Messi has to quit football and after quitting, one can say if he is the best ever. He can talk about it now but will answer after his departure.
