40 year old former Indian batsman Wasim Jaffer became the first batsman to score 11000 in Ranji. Jaffer played 31 Tests and 2 ODIs for India. The Vidarbha player scored 153 runs from 284 balls against Baroda to earn his 54th first class hundred. The veteran batsman used to play for Mumbai early in his career and last played for India in April 2008. He achieved his latest feat on the second day of the ongoing match as Vidarbha declared their innings on 529 for six.
