Political Breach a Big No for ICC

It turned into a grim day for Zimbabwe Cricket, when ICC Board met for the ICC Annual Conference in London, concluded with several new decisions to be put out with immediate effect. ICC on its board meet came up with a saddening decision to ousted Zimbabwe Cricket from all ICC formats and amenities. ICC has repeatedly stated that, they are not in support of any political breach by any country into the game.

The suspension on Zimbabwe from ICC came on 18th July, for failing to ensure that there is no involvement of government into the Zimbabwe administration under the Article 2.4 (c) and (d) of ICC Constitution, referring to free and democratic functioning of the Zimbabwe Cricket Board without the intervention of the Government. This decision was taken keeping in mind the political involvement, other controversies and violation Zimbabwe Cricket constitution, which eventually resulted in Zimbabwe losing their status as a full member of ICC

However, this decision has left the Zimbabwe Cricket board stranded, and no games under ICC will have Zimbabwe in it, and it might also affect the T20 World Cup participation next year, and Zimbabwe players and other stuffs associated with cricket are suddenly left without a job. Apart from this disheartening decision, ICC also came up with some good news, by the introduction of concussions replacements in internationals and captains no longer facing a ban for slow over-rates, with players also being charged same as the captain for slow over-rate.
