Reportedly, shooter Ronjan Sodhi was recommended for Rajiv Gandhi Khel Ratna award while Indian cricket vice-captain Virat Kohli was recommended for the Arjuna Award by the selection committee on Tuesday.
Sodhi had won two silver medals at the 2010 Commonwealth Games and in addition won gold medal at the 2010 Asian Games. Subsequently, Sodhi became the first Indian to successfully defend a World Cup title in 2011. Currently, he is ranked No. 1 in International Shooting Sport Federation (ISSF) world rankings.
On the other hand, India's batting master Virat Kohli was the recipient of the ICC ODI Player of the Year award in 2012.
Budding Indian shuttler PV Sindhu, who recently won the bronze medal in the World Badminton Championships, has been recommended for the Arjuna Award too.
