Saina Nehwal regained the third spot in world rankings

According to the latest rankings released by the Badminton World Federation (BWF) on Thursday, top Indian shuttler Saina Nehwal who had slumped to No. 4 in the world rankings, returned to the World No.3 in women's singles.

Besides Saina, two other Indian shuttlers figured in the top 50. They are P.V. Sindhu who remained at 12 while Nagpur girl Arundhati Pantawane crashed into the top-50 for the first time as she made a noteworthy jump of 10 places to be ranked 49th.

In the men's singles, Parupalli Kashyap maintained India's top-ranked men's player despite plunging two places to be 13th ranked. 

In the meantime, after a string of good performances, R.M.V. Gurusaidutt climbed up a place to clinch career-best No.22. On the other hand, Ajay Jayaram of Mumbai also jumped a place to be 24th ranked.

Sourabh Verma of Madhya Pradesh retained 37th rank while Andhra boy B. Sai Praneeth leaped five places to a career-best 40th. Thailand Open winner Kidambi Srikanth too climbed up a place to be at career-high 41. However, Anand Pawar of Mumbai plunged five places to be 43rd ranked.
