Sharma, Pandya Blowing Away the Windies

In a rain affected 2nd match between India and West Indies spectators saw a magnificent innings by Rohit Sharma in the first half, while Krunal Pandya stole the show in the next half, ceasing the 2nd lead over the Windies. Rovman Powellthough stunned the fans with his half century at a crucial stage, but after his dismissal and rain interrupting the match, West Indies chances slipped away in no time as India won the match under DLS method.

In the first innings Rohit Sharma(67 out; 51b; 6X4, 3X6) guided India from the start contributing 67 runs with the little help from both ShikharDhawan(23 out; 16b; 3X4) and ViratKohli (28 out; 23b; 1X4, 1X6), powering India and setting up the path for a defendable target. But after Sharma’s dismissal things started to look grim for India, as Sheldon Cortell and Oshane Thomas scalpedKohli as well as the next two batsmen. Krunal Pandya(20 not out; 13b; 2X6) with the bat put on a cameo along with RavindraJadeja(9 not out; 4b; 1X6) at the end to put on a target of 167 at the end of 20 overs with the loss of 7 wickets.

The openers of the West Indies batting line-up severely collapsed, as Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Washington Sundarscalped both Sunil Narine(4 out; 12b) and Evin Lewis(0 out; 2b) at the start of the game. Though, Rovman Powell(54 out; 34b; 6X4, 3X6) with his half century and little contribution from Nicholas Pooran(19 out; 34b; 1X4) looked dangerous and threatened to take away the game, but Krunal Pandya came to the rescue for the Indian side as he scalped both the batsmen in a gap of 3 balls in the 14th over. With rain disrupting match in the 16th over, West Indies remained 22-runsshort of the target set forth under the Duckworth-Lewis method, resulting in the 2nd lead acquired by India.
