Somdev Devvarman Banged Samuel Groth, Enters Charlottesville ATP Challenger Tournament

Somdev Devvarman of India banged Samuel Groth to march into the Charlottesville ATP Challenger tournament in the United States. In another match, Saketh Myneni of India stunned world number 83 Tim Smyczek to record his biggest victory in his career.
The 313 ranked Myneni outwitted the local favorite and top seed by 6-4 4-6 7-5 in 1 hour and 55 minutes.

In fact, the 91 ranked and second seed Somdev had to struggle with 192 ranked Australian as he appeared from behind for a 3-6 6-3 6-4 victory in the first round of the USD 75,000 hard court tournament.

Notably Somdev, who is well known for playing long matches, approximately took 2 hours to oust his rival. Currently, the head-to-head record of the two players is 1-1, as the Australian had hammered Somdev in 2009 in Nottingham.

Simultaneously, Somdev is scheduled to compete along with compatriot Sanam Singh in the doubles event. They will lock horns with American wild cards Mitchell Frank and Mac Styslinger in their 1st round.
