Targeting Olympic Quotas At ISSF World Cup

Indian shooters will be targeting the Olympic quotas available at the prestigious event as the ISSF World Cup begins at the Karni Singh Shooting Range in Delhi. A total of 495 shooters from 58 countries will be competing for a total of 16 quota places in eight events at the Rifle and Pistol World Cup. Manu Bhaker, Commonwealth Games gold medallist will be one of the star attractions among the 23-member strong Indian squad. The World Cup will be held at her hometown, and she wants to make the most out of it after she failed to win a medal at the 2018 Asian Games in Jakarta, but the 17 year old is upbeat for the tournament. India will be competing for 14 out of the 16 available quotas as the hosts have already bagged their maximum share of two in the women’s 10m rifle competition through Anjum Moudgil and Apurvi Chandela. Even though there is no quota spots left for India in Elavenil Valarivan’s event, the young and upcoming rifle shooter is excited about World Cup at home.
