The Suspense Grows As Denmark Takes On Peru In Their First Match

Peru will begin their World Cup 2018 campaign vs Denmark in Group C and both sides would be keen to take part in the first match with a decent performance. Both sides have appeared in the previous World Cups without ever really showing any great results. In fact, Peru is returning to World Cup football for the first time since 1986. Denmark, on their part, will also be returning to World Cup football after having failed to qualify for the 2014 edition in South Africa. There is little to choose from the two sides and both will be hoping for maximum points before they take on France and Australia in their other matches. The fate will be declared at the Mordovia Arena, Saransk.

The two nations are joint-favourites to finish second in the group behind France, so a win for either side on Saturday could go a long way to deciding their contrasting fates in the competition. Ricardo Garcia will be leading Peru. The Argentine spent most his playing years in South America, featuring for the likes of Boca Juniors, River Plate and Independiente before he retired in 1994. He was appointed as Peru's manager in 2015, his first job at international level. In the same year, he led the previously struggling Incas to a semi-final in the Copa America, although his latest World Cup achievement is considered to be his finest.

Peru has been handed a major boost with the coming back of their star player captain Paolo Guerrero. The Flamengo striker is Peru’s all-time top scorer with 34 goals in 84 matches. On the other hand, the player to look forward to is Christian Erikson and Andreas Christensen. Former Arsenal striker Nicklas Bendtner was left out of Denmark's 23-man squad due to a groin injury, while Brentford defender Andreas Bjelland was also left out of the squad because of injury concerns.

the most probable formation would be 4-2-3-1 for Peru and 4-2-3-1 for Denmark. As both, the countries have a great chance to conceive goals.
